First month
First month of post-writing is completed!
I’m very happy about this practice so far. Daily posts of any size help me to organize thoughts in my head better. Publishing requires to understand problem better, deeper.
Daily practice not only of a private note writing, but also of a public posting gives me some necessary pressure to keep thoughts more organized.
I’m going to continue for the whole year.
Notable events happened this month:
- January 2 - Returned from skiing, the chilled with home vibes.
- January 7 - Children table tennis tournament organized.
- January 8 - Participated in adult table tennis tournament - not bad results, up in the rating but felt some rustiness after the weekends.
- January 9 - Dense work started, 8-12 hours almost per each day, up to the end of the month. Almost haven’t played video games since, need to find some time for them! I have many titles i want to try out.
- January 17 - Started a new paper journal, rethought many notetaking practices, both paper and digital. Started following Jonathan Blow closely, most interested in his current programming language in development - Jai. There are many ideas that seems right to me.
- January 20 - After intense work managed to come up to final design of auth server integration with LDAP on my contracting work. Migrated existing users to new tableset, sweared that there won’t be API breaks in this domain in the future.
- January 21 - Researched practices of linux kernel development - so many useful insights. Wrote Good development is like gardening post under the impression.
- January 22 - Made a turn from my strategy game prototype to simpler idea - spend next intense 9 days to make the prototype.
- January 25 - Took a tremendous 2nd place in local team table-tennis tournament. Made a big effort, showed my best play so far after a year of training. Was so close to be the 1st, but i’m not sorry - the progress i made is very good anyways. Need to keep up on this pace of success.
- January 27 - Arranged a vacation on the contract for the first half of the February. Will push gamedev mission this period, with having a short trip for skiing (if we can finally have snow this warm winter, ha-ha).
- January 31 - Tested the game prototype with a friend. The perspective is promising. February will be a big push on this project.
The month was great. I’ve been doing very, very good. A lot of positive thoughts and solutions were made. I want to transfer this trend to the February.
