Your propensity to take risks will only reduce as you age. So, if you don’t learn it now, you won’t learn it later.
It’s always tempting to grab for a stable mediocre job which may pay well with thoughts “i will change it later”. But once you get into that circle, it’s hard to break out, and harder with age.
Stable options mean mediocre options. Many people choose stability, it’s natural. We want to feel safe today and tomorrow, so we opt int for something that is maximally safe. But for me, that’s not an option. I want to do great things, at least try. I want to pick something unique and try to implement this, research something that previously seemed magical. I want to get my money invested in my bold ideas rather than “stable” funds.
I fortunately have a lot of work options which will pay way above average in my country, to have a good low-risk living. But these ways won’t involve making a difference. Normal family life is certainly not for me. I want to make a difference - to show myself that i can be part of the story. Not to brag about it, but to satisfy my inner aspirations to work on something great.
